We raise Piedmontese cattle in Fauquier County, Virginia, to exacting standards. We produce some of the most delicious beef you have ever tasted. We meet all USDA standards with our hormone free, additive free, all natural Piedmontese beef.
we raise grain 1-copy Piedmontese beef. Our herd is a select group of Piedmontese cattle, and provides some of the choicest meats available today.
All of our meats are locally processed at The Country Butcher Shop according to strict USDA guidelines. All meat is vacuum packed, frozen and labeled for your convenience.
Piedmontese cattle have evolved over centuries in a pure environment and are genetically designed to produce low fat, tender beef.
One-copy vs Two-copy Piedmontese
The Piedmontese is the only cattle breed known to carry a specific gene that consistently reduces fat and increases tenderness in the beef. A true full-blood Piedmontese animal will carry two copies of this gene, while a crossbred will carry only one copy of the gene. Here in North America, the Piedmontese influence gives us a choice in our beef fat content levels.
One-copy Piedmontese beef will be significantly leaner than traditional beef, while the two-copy Piedmontese beef will be ultra-lean.
